Rhino Colorado is pleased to report on two training events of note. The first, Projection/Playback Training, took place Dec. 16 at Denver’s Paramount Theatre. The agenda included setting up small screen and large screen formats, powering up and configuring the in-house Christie 14K DLP projector, setting up and operating the switcher and decimator station, and setting up and operating Playback Pro Plus on a laptop. Field Supervisor Moses Padilla led the training with Senior Production Manager Louie Gutierrez assisting. The second event, Lighting Basics Training, again conducted at the Paramount, took place on Dec. 18. This training covered lighting fixtures, clamps, and cabling, basic DMX addressing and circuit channeling, and electrical safety and best practices. Tony Caruana lead the training with Louie again assisting along with Lighting Director Joe Magno.


Rhino D.C. team members are on site at the National Geographic Headquarters installing permanent fixtures in the Grosvenor Auditorium. The work is slated to last two months. The installation centers on hanging custom fabric creations from our client, Project Workshop, that act as video screens. “Our crew is working tirelessly on site, as they’ve requested the same team for the entire run.” said D.C. Operations Manager Jenae Hirsch.
Rhino Florida Recruiting & Hiring Coordinator Ryan Council (in photo at top) and HR Manager Megan McInnes recently paid a visit to the Florida Institute of Recording, Sound, and Technology in Orlando. They toured the campus, met with students, and Ryan gave a presentation with Q&A. Megan said about the students that “They all had great questions and wanted to know more about Rhino, the industry, and what was involved in our daily operation”. Following the Q&A, Ryan conducted one-on-one interviews. He told us later that “16 candidates spoke with me in one-on-one interviews and they will receive an invite for an official interview. Most of them are near graduation and primed and ready to take the next step.”
Rhino Georgia congratulates their Director of Operations Emily Shubert on the birth of her second child. Daughter Lucy, arriving in November, joins big brother Fin and proud father Zachary in the growing Shubert clan.
Congratulations also go to Jamal Payett on his promotion to Rigging Manager. Jamal hired on with Rhino in August of 2023 and since has shown consistent dedication.
Rhino Los Angeles ended 2025 with the feeling of having come a long way. Along that way they have tallied nearly 700 jobs with an impressive 18 stadium shows in the environs of Sofi Stadium, The Rose Bowl, Dignity Health Sports Park and Dodger Stadium. Beyond the limits of the City of Angels, they traveled their steel team to Fresno in August to help build the Shakira show. This on a last minute request that saw the team on site for seven sweltering summer days. Still going strong here in the cool witer, they are excited for 2026 and, in the words of Operations Manager Stephanie Little, “can’t wait to see what it will bring to our amazing team.
Rhino Northern California already has one eye looking forward to February’s Super Bowl in Santa Clara, but wants first to look back to a busy “Rock-tober” to congratulate their crash of Rhinos for safely working double digit concert performances that month across Another Planet Entertainment’s family of venues in the Bay Area. Regional Director of Operations Jessica Saling expressed her gratitude to Nor Cal’s leaders in the field including Billy Barkley, TBone Davis, Rob Miller, Mike Muriset, Rom Ortiz, Cedric Rhym, Eric Ross, Phill Sassa, Kevan Thomas, James Zozom and their teams for the dedication and can-do attitude.
Rhino Northwest treated its office staff to a year-end appreciation dinner on Dec. 6 at the JOEY restaurant location in Bellevue, WA. Joining the group for the festivities was Rhino National Director Operations Michelle Smith and Regional Director of Operations Jessica Saling. “A great time was had by everyone!”, said Northwest’s Director of Operations Sarah Buol. Most especially so by Scheduling Coordinator Jaiden Thim who drew the lucky candy bar that won her the evening’s big cash prize.
Rhino San Diego completed a massive 13 day run in November with the WWE Survivor Series show at Petco Park. From a numbers point of view this was one of Rhino’s biggest jobs ever – 535 people working 1,965 shifts logging 15,853 hours. “I am more than proud of our crew, who all worked 10-12 hour days throughout this run,” said Field Supervisor Jonathan Jimenez. “Rhino San Diego received a lot of positive feedback from production managers Jake and Scott who were extremely thankful of our team.”
