Colorado
Rhino Colorado conducted a spotlight training at Denver’s KSE Ball Arena in June when the Arena generously provided its venue and equipment for the training on a dark day. The class was led by Joey Magno, Lighting Director for Rhino in Colorado, with an assist from Bryan Bartlett. The trainees, pictured above with Joey were (left to right) Grace Tressler, Vinny Varone, Brendan Terry, Alina Azarko, Joey, Jeremy Ritchie, Tijuan Franklin, and Kinshasa Cunningham. Los Angeles
Rhino Los Angeles rope access techs recently took on the tall task of cleaning the Space Shuttle Endeavor display elevator gantry at the California Science Center. The gantry, as seen in the photos below, provides access for the public to view the Endeavor from angles normally only seen by astronauts and shuttle tech team members. Emile Lake was the SPRAT Level 3 tech. Level 1 crew included Ray Gilman, Ashoke Nigam, Payton McNamee, Dennie Martinez, and Gus Morrow. Level 2 tech Will Wilson was the supervisor. Way to keep reaching for the stars, Rhinos!
Nevada
Rhino Nevada and Goodwill Career Services combined again in May at the “Strokes of Goodwill” charity golf event at Anthem Country Club in Henderson. Rhino NV has previously partnered with Goodwill of Southern Nevada to create a stagehand training program for Goodwill clients and for the golf event provided sponsorship of one of the course’s holes. Rigging Director Jim Webb, Senior Production Manager Craig Darling, and Scheduling Coordinator Nicholas “Nick” Miller represented for Rhino with plenty of good will. 😉
Northern California
Rhino Northern California this month conducted an OSHA 10 hour training in health and safety for general industry for 13 of its own. Lance Cangey, Safety and Training Manager for Rhino in Nevada, came in from Las Vegas to lead the training at the Fox Theater in Oakland. The State of California requires this training for vendor personnel staffing live events on its properties and Lance and other of Rhino’s OSHA authorized trainers stay busy conducting this training up and down the Golden State.
Northwest
Rhino Northwest was in FIFA preparation mode in the weeks leading up to the currently ongoing 2026 World Cup. Crews assisted in a variety of roles including setting up static ad boards across the region from Seattle to Spokane to Portland, assisting with the watch party barge, multiple banner hangs/placements and various jobs covering signage, building pieces and placing materials throughout Seattle Stadium and the surrounding area. The crews received praise and recognition from multiple clients and were proud to be part of this historic moment for the city of Seattle!
Phoenix
Rhino Phoenix team member Christian Carlson welcomed his first born, Nancy Lynn Carlson, into this world on April 21st. Said Christian, “This has been the ride of my life and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a father and raise a little family! Thank you again for granting me this time to stay working closer to home and with that, cheers and ciao for now!” Best of luck, Christian and family!
Tennessee
Rhino Tennessee got busy in June with the 53rd Annual CMA Fest, the biggest call of the year for our Nashville-based office. For this year’s Fest, which annually draws over 100,000 attendees, Rhino stagehands covered five stages, including the famed Riverfront Stage.
“It’s always a great time! This year we even made special Rhino CMA Fest t-shirts that our hands proudly wore for their show days. And it only rained a little bit on the load in days!” said Operations Manager Celeste Brown.
