It’s a word you don’t hear too often. Unfortunately, it is a trait that has become uncommon and many that have it don’t even know it because it is a state of their being. That ability to keep going in the face of perceived or personified impossibilities is when this trait reveals its existence. In the cowboy way, it takes a moment of bravery to get on that bronco for the first time but its tenacity that pushes you to get back on after you are thrown off again and again and again. Tenacity is conquering that discouraging voice and announcing “You will not define me”. Every time you push past that brink you strengthen this trait. You make it a habit and enable your addiction to overcome. When it is a long time in between wins, that is when tenacity matters most.
